It’s good to be bold, and that’s what this album is. Multiversum is a fusion of the subtle and the brave with a focus on a pure and completely indulged desire to explore the limits of one's own guitar playing. And when you’re Luca Mantovanelli, that limit is high.
Between the moments of funk, jazz, blues, rock, prog and fusion, there’s Luca’s very own style of playing, and it sings loud.
Luca says, “Multiversum means “multiverse” and I like to think that is what comes across in the music. I have a lot of different influences and this was my chance to bring them all together, and also have my own style too. “Southern Men” was a chance to work with my friend Alex Argento, who like me is from the south of Italy. “7.04” was a nice play on the fact it’s in 7s and 4s and I wrote the main riff at 7.04am, and Insomnia is named that because my daughter never sleeps! There’s rock, jazz, metal, funk, fusion, and I tried to bring it together with my everyday life.”
With challenging rhythms, outside playing, Luca’s signature legato, memorable guest spots from Marco Sfogli and Alex Argento, plus shifting song structures, melodic call and response and huge hooks, there’s a lot to keep both inquisitive music fans and guitarists busy.
