So far, Prashant has released 4 solo albums and written for several guitar magazines. He has also worked with various artists including Justin Timberlake, Christins Milian, Herbie Hancock, Steve Gadd, Darrell Diaz, Greg Howe, Aj Mclean, Jose Pasillas and Rhonda Smith.
At age 8 Prashant began playing the tabla and took lessons for 5 years, but it was at age 13 that he first took up the guitar. During high school he joined the Jazz band instructed by Jeff Leonard. Leonard took an interest in Prashant and began teaching him to read to chords, which was his first formal training in guitar. After high school he attended Berklee College of Music and received the Guitar Night honours for Rock Fusion. During his time at Berklee he opened for Andy Timmons, John Petrucci and Steve Morse.Â His first solo album, 'Revelation', was released under Legato records and produced by none other than Greg Howe. This was completed while he was still studying at Berklee. Relevation was a success, and Prashant became a worldwide sensation. It was even re-released by Virtuoso Records in 1998 and by SoundHolic Records in 1999 in Japan. Due to his rise in popularity he started doing clinics and concerts, and writing guitar articles for Italy's biggest guitar magazine, Axe Guitar Magazine. He has also been featured in print around the world, including Japan's Young Guitar Magazine.Â Prashant has recorded a further 3 solo albums, 'Duality', 'Sonically Speaking' and 'Visions'. He has also recorded a soundtrack entitled 'Frequency, released by Lakeshore Entertainment. Currently, he is the featured artist on iFrankenstein Movie Soundtrack (Lakeshore Entertainment) and is producing AJ Mclean's (Back Street Boys) solo album. In addition to this he is recording his fifth solo album with Jose Pasillas (Incubus) and Rhonda Smith (Prince, Jeff Beck).
