Born and raised near Munich, Michael Wagner started playing by the age of 11. From the beginning he was influenced by the great rock and blues players like Angus Young, Stevie Ray Vaughan or Gary Moore. With 14 years he co-founded the Munich-based hard rock band Lem Motlow, still his main project.
From 2009 to 2012 he worked as an editor for Guitar Magazin Germany. During that period he took part in the Robert Johnson Guitar Award, a German-wide blues and rock guitar contest, and scored first as â€žGermany's best upcoming guitar playerâ€œ 2011. Uli Jon Roth (Ex-Scorpions) and Marcus Deml (Errorhead) were part of the jury. 2012 he attendedÂ Berufsfachschule fÃ¼r Musik in DinkelsbÃ¼hl and switched to his current university, Popakademie Mannheim, in 2013. In the same year he released his first album with Lem Motlow. He also recorded guitars for other artists like Emily Nichols or Binyo and played on the motion picture soundtrack for Mannheim â€“ der Film, which will be released in late 2015. Â
