Kit Tang, born in 1984 in Hong Kong picked up a guitar for the first time at the age of 10 after he watched the videos of Bon Jovi, and since that day has never stop playing! To begin with, he was self-taught, learning everything by ear and from listening and watching videos of his guitar heroes Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Andy Timmons, Yngwie Malmsteen. From there he took what he had learned and developed his own techniques and style of music.
After high school, Kit decided to take music more seriously. Aged 19, he attended a music program at Selkirk College in Nelson, BC Canada. Before that he had never had any formal education of music theory, so after failing the audition with his favorite teacher Darren Mahe he was determined to learn everything he could about the theories, scale names, chord names of music from scratch. It was not an easy task, but during this period he learnt the most, not only from his theory classes but learning from classmates which changed his understanding of music. When he was 22 he went to study as a Sound Engineering at Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology in London Ontario, Canada. Learning under renowned professionals such as Bob Breen (former Studio manager of the Ocean Studios Burbank). In 2007, he moved back to Hong Kong and started his career as a professional sound engineer. Recently he started working as a studio session player, composer, and a music arranger working with the local singers and artists from TV jingles to movie music.Kit also gives private guitar lesson and will be spending more time making great jam track packages!
