Let Luca guide you through the expressive and boundary free world that is jazz.
A chance to build a foundation for those new to the style, and a way to add extra flourishes if you’re already comfortable with the genre. Across four backings, recorded with live musicians, you’ll discover the techniques and theoretical approaches required to break down the jazz blockade.
After an introduction to a staple of jazz, the 2-5-1 progression; with licks over both major and minor backings, you’ll then step into “Lady Bird” and “Blues” standards, calling on a swathe of concepts in the process.
As you shuffle and swing your way through the pack, you’ll use gypsy jazz inspired lines, chromatics, double stops, slides, bends, and more, all with a focus on articulation, and a free flowing accuracy that is synonymous with the style. You’ll develop modal ideas, touch on tension and release, and be introduced to new and exciting scales and chord progressions that will broaden your horizons as you continue to grow as a guitarist.
To help you navigate the sea of twirling fingers, Luca has played each lick to a slow version of the backing, and has provided in-depth notes that shine a light on every single detail of the licks.
This release includes 20 licks played fast and slow, four backings recorded by live musicians, in-depth PDF study guide and full tab/notation in both PDF and GP formats.
Break new ground and add variety to your artistry as Luca Mantovanelli uncovers the fertile ground of jazz.
